About Us
Dr. Kate Curtis and Dr. Lora Wiens were colleagues for over 10 years at the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs, a place of help, hope and healing. When Samaritan unexpectedly shut its doors in the Spring of 2023, Dr. Kate and Dr. Lora created Hope & Healing Psychotherapy to continue to serve the community. We were thrilled to bring along with us three of our respected colleagues from the Samaritan Counseling Center, Carol Irons, Sarah Serrato, and Katie Carlon. In November of 2024, we were pleased to welcome therapist Hannah Becker to the Hope & Healing Psychotherapy team to treat adolescents and adults.

At Hope & Healing Psychotherapy, we believe there is truly hope for healing from the mental and physical suffering caused by the stress of living in a world shadowed by a pandemic, societal mistrust, and physical and emotional violence.
At Hope & Healing Psychotherapy, your story matters and we don’t expect you to be like anyone else. We value your unique imprint on this world. Each one of us has strengths and areas of growth. Let us help you grow into your best version of yourself.
At Hope & Healing Psychotherapy, we are happy to offer in-depth psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Not only do we provide empirically supported interventions such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), but we’re pleased to offer specialized treatment for trauma and sensory issues, such as the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and EMDR. We support an integrative healing process that may include your spirituality, mindfulness, body work, yoga, nutrition, breath work, psychopharmacology, and connecting with the natural world.
